If you believe that every word and every action have some consequences either right away or in the future then you're like me, searching for a way to do the right thing. I want to know what gives me the strength to do the right thing. I asked this question of the cards.
My question: What is my higher power?
The Death Card. Come on now how can that be a higher power.
Never thought of the death card as a higher power card but as soon as that thought drifted away another came to me: live for today. ...Don't think about death as an end but as the higher power card that teaches us all to know that every moment counts. For me it means that I have to learn to live in the details so that I can get the most out of life. What are my intentions at this moment? Live here, right now, in today. Take note of what is real and what is just window dressing but also have a light heart and know today is fleeting so make the best of it.
The Death card for many just means change and nothing else. But really, who are we kidding, change is constant and nothing ever stays the same. Why not use that as a strength, as your higher power. Don't get attached to things as there are today but see them as something to enjoy to the fullest, right now. Relationships, circumstances, jobs, friends, family, possessions all are changing right now, so enjoy each detail today.
Also death can be seen as a higher power of letting go. Letting go of your past. I think I've not used this very well and when I do find a way to let go of past conflicts, bad relationships, past bad actions, past bad intentions of others and myself, I can finally have a clear understanding of what I'm suppose to do in each situation and have good, skillful intentions with solid actions that support those intentions.
Who knew the death card could be so empowering!
